I copied the HTML from my previous page, and put in on here, in remembrance for my past system. =( Copy and Paste starts here. I currently have the following equipment in my car: Head Unit: --Alpine CDE-7821 In-Dash CD Player Component Speaker's Amplifier: --Alpine 3554. 35x4 RMS. Predecessor to current V12 line; basically the same. Front Speakers: --Pioneer TS-P461; 4x6's. Separate Component Plate Speakers; 1 Tweeter & 1 Midrange Per Speaker. Rear Speakers: --Ultimate UL690TX: 6x9's Subwoofer Amplifier: --Rockford Fosgate 200x2. 500X1 RMS Mono-Bridged Subwoofers: --Three MTX Road Thunder 10's In A Sealed Box Wiring: ---Phoenix Gold and StreetWires No, this is not an elaborate nor a terribly expensive system. However, component turnover is high because I'm always selling or trading something to make my system better. I got the CD player and amplifier used for a package deal of $450, the Punch Amp for $340, the Subwoofers for $350, the front and rear speakers for less than $150, and my wiring for $170. For those (like me) that hate to do math, my system totals to be somewhere around $1460. I'm very pleased with the system right now, so I don't think I will change anything for awhile, except for getting a capacitor. However, future improvements include: Installing a Capacitor and maybe a high-output alternator so I will be able to drive around with my lights on and still be able to crank my stereo, Adding a component set in the kick panels, replacing my rear speakers with some Kicker 6x9 Mid-Basses, and maybe adding some type of EQ or signal processor. This system has decent imaging, awesome bass, and it gets really loud. I think it sounds pretty good for no more money than I have put in it. My system will be pretty damn cool! My mid-range/mid-bass is a bit weak but I hope to overcome that with the Kicker 6x9's. The next piece I will add to this system will be an alarm. I live in a really small town, with practically no crime, so it's not necessarily imperative to have one. Copy and Paste ends here. Unfortunately, some thug, or more likely, thugs, decided to deprive me of 7 years of work at minimum wages. The value of the equipment and CD's stolen, plus the damage to my car ended up being around $3000. The police got plenty of prints on my car, but have yet to do anything about it. I have been more than patient and helpful with them, and as soon as I get the chance, I will resort to legal action due to the apathetic attitude taken with the theft. It's a fucking Grand Theft, and it's not like they have anything else to do in a town of 600. They haven't even sent in the fingerprints to be analyzed. Eventually I will be posting pictures and the police report of the theft. I was so sick after my stuff was stolen that it took me almost a month to stomach hooking up some old equipment. For some odd reason, the bastards left my deck, and some of my CD's. I had an alarm on order when my car was broken into, but as soon as it came in, I installed it. Here is the shitty system I have in my car currently: I also have some kick panel pods with another pair of Dayton tweeters, and a pair of Onkyo 6" midranges, but I'm waiting for my friend back home to finish Dremeling the kick pods. I'm not even sure whether or not I will decide to invest in another car audio system. As for a home system, I have a few things, but nothing special. It's basically a system that I started to piece together, but never finished. I will probably start piecing together a Home System whenever I get the inclination, and the money. Here is what I have for my home system: |
